Hello everyone! I'm sure y'all have been just as busy as us this spring! Spring means vaccination, calving, weaning, breeding, etc.… Spring = Busy! We spent our spring break with the boys touring some stellar ranches out west. We traveled a little over 4000 miles and 10 states. We visited Barber Ranch, Perez Cattle Company, Ned and Jan Ward's place, and finally Sandhill Farms. We even purchased a cow/calf pair from Sandhill Farms in Haviland, KS.
We now have our ECR 53D JOURNEY 8086 bull home from South Dakota. His neck and front shoulders are amazing for a yearling and his EPDs... I can not say enough amazing things about this bull!! We were also able to bring our donor dam home from Cottage Farms that we own half of... PCA MS BOOMER 1x. SHF LARY BIRD Z67 B192 cow/calf pair have settled in and made themselves comfortable here in Middle Tennessee. We are super excited about the heifer calf as she is sired by Gerber Anodyne.
We have another round of embryos to transfer in 2 weeks! That is always such an exciting but nerve wrecking time. We have 2 amazing heifers safe in calf by Endure 173D and another heifer safe to F Final Test. Those babies should be very impressive. We just weaned our NJW Heifers Queen Vaca and Lexie. Those two had some outstanding wean weights.
Well that is a quick update from the farm. We hope this finds you all well!!! God bless and take care!
