Each year that passes I am reminded about how blessed we are to have this farm, the land, and all the responsibilities that come with it. We are entrusted with the care of God's creatures and to be good stewards of his land. It is such an amazing responsibility that we could not be more grateful for.
It is calving season and we have had some exciting prospects hit the ground! We have UPS Undisputed, York, Leader, Builder and many more calves. The potential of these calves is unlimited. Our Undisputed bull calves are so unbelievably stout and thick already.
We have partnered with some great people to purchase some really great genetics to our program. We purchased an amazing York heifer from the Walker Polled Hereford sale with GTN Cattle Company. We bought 1/2 interest in a bred cow with McGuffee Polled Herefords. We are very thankful to be partnering with them to continue to improve our genetics and breed Herefords that will excel.
Breeding plans are probably one of my very favorite activities. Josh and I stay bent over sheets of potential AI Sires and plugging their EPDs into spreadsheets to see what the potential mating could bring. It really is a lot fun! There is nothing more exciting than planning the future of the farm and to see its potential and the possibilities. This is what we have been doing for the last couple of weeks. We research bulls and find potentials and come together and make plans.
Sorry for the delay in updates... I have had some health issues that have prevented me from being active in the farm for the last six months or so. I have recently had surgery and am 100% better and BACK!! :-)
Hi! I'm Bethany/Beth Mansfield. I maintain our website, Facebook page, Instagram account, and twitter feed. I'm a mother to two little cowboys that live for life on the farm with our Herefords.
